Access Statement For The Old Rectory Bed and Breakfast 2011

Introduction

My intention is to cater to all my guests needs in my home based three bedroom bed and breakfast. The following is a summary of all I provide. Please ring me or Email me if you have any queries so that I may help.

Pre-Arrival

We have a basic web site.
You can contact me by phone or email (details below).
There is a local taxi service that has accessible taxis if required, I am happy to make a booking for you.
The main line train station is 15 minutes walk away or a short taxi ride.
The main bus station is a 7 minute walk away or a short taxi ride.
The centre of the city is just 7 minutes walk away or a short taxi ride.
There is a shopmobility in Salisbury.
There is an equipment hire shop in the city. I am happy to organise any equipment needed by prior arrangement.
I have no ground floor rooms.

Arrival and Car parking Facilities.

On arrival there is a section of un-even paving leading off the pavement.
I can assist guests with luggage.
Parking is on the street.
There is a public car park with CCTV just a minutes walk away. I am happy to assist with luggage from car park to B&B.
There is a dropped curb just outside the front entrance to the house.
Guide dogs are welcome.
There is one small step at the main entrance.
The city centre is 7 minutes walk away.

Main Entrance and Reception.

There is a step of 12cm on to porch.
There is a step of 5cm into the house.
The front door is always locked but there is an illuminated bell.
The front door is 93cm wide.
Carpeted entrance hall.
Smooth wooden handrails either side of stairway.
Guests are shown around B&B on arrival.
There are two door mats at entrance – both easily moved.
There is a small step 2 inches down into the breakfast room.
I am happy to provide prices and other information in large print on request.
All signage is basic.
The main entrance has green carpet and green skirting – walls are cream.

Public Areas – General (Internal).

The flooring on the ground floor is green carpet and wood.
The stair covering is carpet.
Dog water bowl is available on request.
The breakfast room is on the ground floor.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the first floor.
There are 17 stairs leading to the first floor landing, the last three turning to the left.
The stairs are 6 inches high 10 inches deep and 3 foot wide.

Public Areas – WC.

Bedrooms are either en suite or with a private bathroom.
There is no public WC available.

Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Lounges, take Away and Café.

Breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the ground floor, there is one small step down into the room.
Flooring is wood.
Furniture can be moved on request.
Tables have under space of 2 foot 4 inches high by 2 foot 10 inches wide. Height is 2 foot 61/2 inches.
Chairs have no arms.
Background music is played in the breakfast room – this can be turned off on request.
I cater for special diets by prior arrangement.
The B&B is non smoking.
From the breakfast room there is a double door leading to the patio.
There is a buffet style breakfast – assistance is available on request.

There are three bedrooms.
There are TV’s in all the rooms. All have remote control.
All rooms have radio alarm clocks.
Refreshment trays are in all the rooms.

There are no public telephones in the rooms.

Extra blankets in all the rooms.

Annetts Room. (large room).

We have a walled garden with lawn and flower beds.
The garden and BBQ are available for guests use.
There is a local park right across the road from the B&B.

Guide dogs are welcome.

We have Wi Fi for guests use with laptops.
We are able to use front, back and side doors in the need of evacuation.
We are a no smoking building, smoking is permitted in our garden.
Our fridge is available for guests medication / food on request – not 24 hours.
